the relief of sickness and financial hardship amongst people who are suffering from any disease of the chest or related illnesses with a preference for ex-members of the armed forces of the crown and their dependents, including through:(a) assistance with vocational training;(b) advancing the education of persons training to be health professionals specialising in the treatment of chest diseases, with a preference for those working with or intending to work with members or ex-members of the armed forces of the crown;(c) funding research into the causes and treatment of chest diseases, in particular amongst members or ex-members of the armed forces of the crown. objects2.1 the objects of the partnership are:2.1.1 the relief of persons suffering from diseases of the chest and lungs, to include, on a continuing basis, asthma, and the prevention of those diseases;2.1.2 the promotion of medical research into the prevention, treatment, alleviation and cure of those diseases and the dissemination of the useful results of such research for the benefit of the public and the promotion of post-graduate training and the creation of fellowships, hospitals, medical centres and research institutes; and2.1.3 the provision of care, support, services and information for persons suffering from those diseases. income to be applied in accordance with the trusts from time to time regulating the charity called the chest heart and stroke association (leeds) trust. [1. for the purpose of relieving in cases of need persons living in the leeds metropolitan district who are in distress occasioned by chest and heart illnesses2. to aid and promote study and research into respiratory disease in hospitals and universities anywhere in the uk.and may apply the balance of any income in the general purposes of the association] (1) the relief of sickness and distress of people infected with tuberculosis.(2) the preservation and protection of public health by the provision of information about tuberculosis and undertaking or assisting with research into tuberculosis and disseminating the useful results.
