Objects:
(a) the prevention or relief of poverty by the provision of social housing in the form of almshouse accommodation for poor persons who have resided in the parish of hawkhurst and surrounding parishes within a 10 mile radius of the said almshouses for not less than 3 years or who have relatives living in these parishes and who have need of such accommodation. (b) the trustees must give preference to poor persons who have resided in the parish of hawkhurst for not less than five years' next preceding the time of their appointment. (c) if and in so far as the income of the charity cannot be applied towards the objects above it may be applied for the benefit of the almspeople of the charity or any of them in such manner as the trustees think from time to time.
