for the assistance and support of members of the institution who may for the time being be in necessitous circumstances for one of more scholarships for the education of persons of the male sex by attendance at a school or college, university or other place of education in the united kingdom an award for the woman student with the best performance in the final examination leading to the award of the higher national certificate in electrical engineering to provide grants from time to time to assist members of the institution to travel overseas for the purposes that further the objects of the institution. to provide an annual premium for the best paper of the year on a subject dealing with the science and art of television or with pulse & wide-band technique to provide scholarships for deserving young men who wish to become electrical engineers, but whose parents are of limited means. to provide a scholarship or sholarships for a full time, a sandwich, or a part-time course in electrical engineering in preparation for a career in the electrical supply or electrical manufacturing industries. to provide an annual prize for outstanding merit during the course & in the final examinations for the higher national certificatesin electrical engineering if these include electronics or telecommunications. to assist any member in need of help in carrying out electrical research work. awards under this bequest to be made only to natural born british subjects whose parents were british subjects by birth. to award an annual scholarship to a student preparing himself for the career of an electrical engineer. to establish and to maintain memorial lectures on electrical science and engineering and their applications. to found and endow scholarships in electrical engineering. for the assistance of young and needy engineers in their studies and early careers. the advancement of education in electrical engineering generally including the establishment and award of scholarships, fellowships, lectureships, competitions, prizes and awards. to found such a scholarship or scholarships or such an exhibition or exhibitions as the council of the institution may think fit. for the best paper in the ambit of electricy supply read before the students' sections of the instituion to provide an annual prize for outstanding merit during the course & in the final examinations for the electrical technicians certificate of the city & guilds of london institute. to be used at the discretion of the council of the institution for the assistance of students & graduates to provide an annual prize for out-standing merit during the course and in the final examinations for the higher national certificate in electrical engineering, in electrical power subjects. to provide a scholarship for full-time study in electrical engineering. to encourage suitable candidates to enter the electrical instrument making industry, and to fit them eventually to hold executive positions in this branch of electrical engineering to further education or research in electrical engineering by providing grants or scholarships or similar awards to persons of either undergraduate or postgraduate standing. to award scholarships of exhibitions to meritorious students in the science of electrical engineering. to provide scholarships in electrical engineering science. to provide a scholarship to be applied and directed towards training in connection with electrical railway signalling. to assist ex-service men, with overseas service in the 1914-18 war to obtain technical training and education to enter the profession of an electrical engineer & as a secondary purpose to promote general electrical research to award moneys annually in the form of postgraduate scholarships and bursaries in electronic or radio engineering. to give pecuniary assistance to persons who apply for help from the benevolent fund of the institution of electrical engineers and are recommended to thw trustees by the court of governors of the benevolent fund as persons who in their opinion have rendered important services to electrical scoence or electrical industry or electrical engineering (whether such persons are or have been members of the institution or not) or as the widow or child or childrn or dependant or dependants of such persons and as persons who in the opinion of the court are proper object of charitable income to promote the general advancement of science, engineering & technology & to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas on these subjects amongst the members of the iet and otherwise the advancement of education and learning among women by the granting of scholarships and travelling exhibitions and by other means. for the promotion and furtherance of education in production engineering. for grant of scholarship to a male student at school, college, university or othe place of education in the united kingdom. the foundation of scholarships and/or exhibitions for engineering at such universities or technical engineering colleges of such values for such periods, upon such terms and subject to such conditions as the trustees may from time to time prescribe. a common investment fund established by a scheme of the charity commissioners under section 22 of the charities act, 1960, for the benefit
